what a surprise,apparently there is a clause in michael owens contract that could see him leave for 6 million,anyone think he will be off in january

freddie sheppard did admit in july that owen had a clause for around 8 million,so i dont think it was just paper talk,not sure why its gone down to 6 mil

It all depends if he is fit in January I guess. I can't see him leaving after he stopped during the Summer and important players don't tend to move in the January transfer window.

Owen's initial buy out clause was £9million but that expired on July 31st (might have been June 30th).

I think though that by the end of this season he'll only have 2 years left on his contract, so if he doesn't sign a new one, he'll be getting cheaper as time goes on.

If somebody buys him in January it'll be for much more!
