Apparently his fellow coutryman John Carew has said he wants Riise to move to Villa and hinted hat he is unhappy at Liverpool.

"It seems like John Arne wants to go, so I can't see why not?" Carew told Dagbladet.

"There is a possibility.

"He would fit in very well at Villa, so that would be a positive."

i think the reds are stalling on a new contract, last year riise said he wanted to stay at liverpool, since then no contracts emerged(he was probably testing the water),sissoko, alonso.gerrard and carragher all signed long contracts but he didnt, hes bound to be wondering about his future

I wonder why he's not been offered a new contract? I thought he was one of Liverpool's best players.

I agree that he will go abroad if he does leave.

He should be Rafa's favourite with those cracking goals that he scores. Rafa does seem a bit confused on where to play him down the left side. Riise seems to be a bit inbetween the two positions.

the thing is you want your left-back to defend first, if he can get forward and score great but defending the priority and hes not that good at it. why do you think he wanted heinze so desperately?
Manchester = 50% United, 31% City, 19% the rest. Manchester is RED. Always has been.

He will be worth about £8.65m then considering he isn't English.

I thought Rafa preferred him in the Champions League?

hes had some of his best games in the cl but i think sometimes his forward play and goals has overshadowed his defensive capabilities
