Not a Pool fan, but agree he's a good coach/#2 and being a Scouse could really help Rafa.

Of course he might also try and point out to Rafa that the PL is the most important competition for Pool fans and have arguments about rotating less in that competition..Possible tension?

I never knew he used to be assistant at Liverpool as well. How come he left?

Sammy played for us for near enough a decade, cracking little midfielder.

He became a coach with us back in 1993 and was with us for about 11 years in various roles, went to become an assistant for England national team with Sven before moving to Bolton.

Would welcome him back, lots of respect for him at Anfield and be good to have someone to possibly replace Pako

exactly i agree, rafa is saying that he don't need a #2 but imo since pako left we have been poor. sammy could be exaclty what we need right now.

I don't remember him being assistant to Sven at the World Cup.

Surely Rafa can't do the job of two people? It would explain your recent form...

Exactly what I said Flak, this is what I put one another thread on Pako.

I think he was a very installed manager at Liverpool.

He doesn't get in sports pages like Queiorz (Excuse my spelling) does. He tend to keep a very low profile, but any belived he was silent but deadly the way he went about his job.

In the end, a heated argument between Benitez and Pako ended up in resignment, many belived at first we would cope. But with our recent poor form, people blamed are roation policy, but you can't really put it down to that

The overall team morale went down, and that showed against Marssile, with even the captain not manging to drive his team on and keeping his finger stick up his arse.

But concluding, a big club like Liverpool shouldn't worry about Pako, he may of helped carry Liverpool through but now we must find another way around him.

Yeah I hadn't heard of Pako either until he got sacked. They keep them quiet at Liverpool and you never hear them talked about on matchdays. Maybe Lee will end up back at Liverpool then.

he was a great #2 to rafa the little bald guy sat next to him all the time. i just wish rafa could just admit that he was wrong to try and make pako stop talking to mourinho and take him back!
