1 - see my previous post with all your other thread on gerrard and benitez 2 - you are interpreting his reponse how you want to. but i'll leave this discussion now, discussing with people who just make up things to suit their arguement is pretty pointless |

ok guys im sorry benitez put gerrard wide right because he can dictate the games better from their and took him off because he knows how to control games. also he made gerrard stay because he knew if gerrard went so would he |

I think that you are reading too much into this manu. It's clear to see that Gerrard is Liverpool's most important player and they wouldn't be near as good without him. |

not disputi9ng that just think he is overated and cant pass or dictate which you need to be a top midfielder. yes he makes up for it with his drive and heart but natural talent i think lampard has more imo. |

Fair enough, it's your opinion. He is at his best when running about and pressuring no question. It's not always going to work though. I think his passing is decent enough...how many assists did he get last season? |

Gerrard hasnt been at his best so far this season, but he is still one of the best midfielders in Europe, and what ever you say about the incident this weekend it was still a great break. |

u think thats why rafa put him wide coz he like to run at players. and is this his downfall at international level coz ders no space to do so |

Gerrard's a great player going through a run of weaker form. I don't think him and Lampard should play together in England's midfield and I'd choose Gerrard over Lampard if both are fit and firing on all cylinders. I do not think it is good that a player has more power within a club than the manager. Comments that Rafa would go if the two fell out are not helpful to the manager being able to do his job. Look what happened at Newcastle when Shearer fell out with his various bosses. Although he epitomised the club for the supporters, just as Gerrard does for Liverpool, he had way too much power and influence. I believe Rafa was giving Stevie G a kick up the backside, not just because his form has been poor but also probably to let him know who's boss. I'm not expecting either to be leaving any time soon. |

ud choose gerrard over lampard yet lampard is the one playing better at the moment so should he have started the last 2 games for england???? i think gerrard has been effected by the arival of another world class player at the club (torres) and doesnt have to carry the team asmuch by himself as he did in previous seasons. |
