Frank Lampard has built his career on playing in an attacking midfiled position, and either creating or finding space to shoot (and consequentlyscore goals)in and around the 18 yard box.

He did it at WHU, and wasn't overly enthused by those supporters because of his lethargic nature in not necessarily always chasing back for his team.

Since his move to Chelsea, he has continued his penchant for finding space and scoring, but has added a maturity to his game which comes with experience. His passing and vision have improved two fold in the prevailing years at Chelsea (but neither are absolutely top notch), and his willingness to track and tackle have only added to his game.

For what he does, he is the best in the Prem. There is no one better at getting the shot in from 20 yards, and because of his ability to do this he gets more shots in, he scores more goals than other midfielders.

Is he world class? Well, would the top clubs have him in their team? Yes, pretty much without exception he would be sought after by every top club if he became available.

Therefore, by ability to score goals alone (but not forgetting his improved pasing, tackling, work rate and vision) the guy is world class.

couldnt have said it better myself

Quit it you two!

Well said Azward. Just looking at the poll it seems that Frank splits opinion a bit like Marmite. The fact that he's linked with Barcelona says a lot about him.

barcelona soo dont need him. deco, iniesta, ronaldinho, dos santos, xavi, toure. i think its just rumours and i think what they need is actually another dm not am as toure isnt settled yet and xavi cant tackle. mascherano would be ideal for them. lampard should go to juve. its the best place for him as they lack quality am after tiago flopped

i dont think barce will adept their game to his style like chelsea did and he wont be able to affect the game much with all the top players there. his time on the ball will be much more limited and he will struggle when he will play out of position (cant see him playing regulery as an am) he will be the same as henry only far worse since he will have 4 top players in his position..
