gerrard is 28 soon, could be another beckham. maybe liverpool might bite him in the arse for wanting to leave for chelsea couple of years back. doesnt matter always what the fans want, no one at ot wanted beckham to leave. they could cash in on him Real need a player like him. Dont be surprised if they stick with the manager as they have let him invest heavily in the youth set up. They may think keeping a manager long term like arsenal and manu is the answer to sustained success.NO PLAYER IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUB I put this on a seperate thread as thought it was relvente.

Dear god what is all this crap going around at the moment

Theres nothing to win! I really wish people would stop believing this media rubbish. He subbed him, managers do that and Gerrard has spoken to him to find out why and its all settled now.

Christ you would think there was all out war because of it or something because of it. They are already over it, i am absolutely gobsmacked at the amount of posts about this across various boards, its beggards belief

I can't see it myself. He is idolised there and one of the best players they have got. I could understand it if he wasn't very good.

Get ready for a man of the match performance from him in the Champions League is all that I will say...

i aint saying there is a war, just think if the issue persues benitez imo would be favoured. Gerrard will have a stormer I agree. but football is funny i remember beckham he didnt wanna go, fans didnt want him to go, but he still got sold. Maybe benitez might feel he has to much sway at the club. I mean when your subbed just get off dont question it in public, that shows he thinks his the best at the club(he is) but it not good for team moral

your a passionate liverpool fan so you dont want to believe. im sorry you dont bring off your "best player"(who was in my opinion the best on the pitch on sat) in the middle of a derby, i mean he can win games on his own as seen in the past.just seemed like benitez was stressing a point.

no im a realistic fan and I dont understand what there is to win.

He was brought off because he plays far too much with his heart in these games, whilst in other games that can be commendable in the derby it can be counter productive.

I'll say it again seeing as you obviously missed it but even before the game I commented that I worried about him playing in that he could be too prone to something rash that could end up in bookings or even a sending off. It's only a couple of seasons ago that he was sent off inside 10 minutes! something we could ill afford this time round.

Whats being seen is fans believe the bullsh1t flying about in that this one substituation means that there is some kind of war going on between the too

Thats one of the most tenuous links that I have heard, both have already spoken about the incident...
