i get the point that your making, and i must say that i agree, but i realy do feel that trotters have taken a step backwards, and they are in danger of becoming the biggest joke in football at this moment in time! last night the fans where singing WHO THE FCUK IS GARY MEGSON,and SACK THE BOARD! .megsons record at premier league isn't good ,what is the point of employing a manager who doesnt seem to be able to manage, and already has the crowd on his back. |

Winning trophies is only part of the story. At Rangers he bought the title they did a Chelsea bringing England Internationals such as Terry Butcher and Trevor Steven, this was the first time any non-Scots had played up there. Rangers were then very rich. You or I would have won those trophies with his playing staff realtive to the opposition. At Liverpool he took the strongest team with the best continuity of management and success the English game had ever seen, and killed it! So he got a trophy or two, big deal he was way underperforming! and killed their future prospects for several years. Where else, Turkey? Galatasarey (?) The then strongest side in the league by a mile. The man is an ar5e of the highest order. Did he win anything at Blackburn? not sure but they were 2 weeks from sacking him when newcastle paid them to take him off their hands. Souness method: right I'm the boss, call me sir! or Mr Souness and I'll kick you all up the backside. If you still don't like me bullying my way around I'll tw4t you one personally. I don't care what you think I'd break a guy's leg and miss my mother's funeral to win. Scaring football players, if you still can, has only a short term impact. They may well improve for a while but it isn't long before they get sick of the bullying, get demotivated and start not to care. What he might achieve is a short term raising of performance followed by a dip way below where they are now. His other trouble is that egos and self importance of footballers plus their agents would mean that anyone who has a chance elsewhere would leave for it. Souness....no chance! |

You're right indirectly I have known him, his modus operandi and I don't like him. It may be that in reality the Carling Cup with Blackburn was his best achievement because elsewhere he had 'best' players to work with. |

It's nearly Christmas
|
Not the right choice of manager but I think they will manage to stay up. It's early days yet as somebody pointed out a couple of wins and they would shoot up the table. Their only hope is to keep Anelka though. |

I can assure you that Gary Megson will never have worked with a player of Anelka's class. |
