I think Jol must have felt like a dead man walking since the intitial approach to Ramos. Which was well out of order. The Spurs board created Jol's slump by undermining him before he'd put a foot wrong.

On reflection it appears Jol never really recovered, whether that was because he couldn't or because he didn't really want to, (or even if he was involved in this conspiracy plan all along), I don't know.

How come they are now confident of landing Ramos, with almost immediate effect?
I didn't think he was available until season's end.
