Yes you could say that. A team needs more than 1 leader and they should stand up and lead the team without an armband.

You only see the Captain in one dimension ie. on the pitch. Behind the scene in training or in front of the camera he is invaluable. All teams regardless of what they do whether it is in sport or other things in life they are invaluable.

Well... yes, because he would know he is not in charge. But when he is given the arm band he can take authority.

you need a captain.a manager cant motivate his players from the sideline.the captain should be a player that can motivate and lead the players on the pitch.

I think that what itsgunnabe was getting at is shouldn't players still stand up and be counted and drive their team forwards regardless of whether they are captain or not?
