The media often discusses big games in the context of season deciders, suggesting that the eventual champions are the ones who will come out on top in the big games, e.g. this weekends Liverpool v Arsenal.

Last season of course Arsenal did the double over Man Utd but the red devils won the Prem. I'm unsure about past stats and whether they support what the media suggests, any idea anyone?

It certainly helps beating your rivals but it is also important to have a consistency tho and beat the smaller sides as at end of the day 3 points is 3 points.

In the Chelsea v Liverpool game I heard them say that you can't help but think that this is the two title contenders playing. Look where they are now.

league games at the beginning of the season aren't title deciders, the games near the end are.beating your title rivals at the beginning of the season gives you the edge but not the league.

No point beating the other top 4 teams if you do crap against all of the others. I'm pretty sure that Chelsea came out on top in the head-to-head matches last season.

:o Oh right. Just the smaller teams that Arsenal struggled against then last season. Unfortunately it seems like you have sorted that problem out this season.
