If you really appreciate football sunday was Super. Top players will have a hard battle gainst eachother. The wigan game was actually boring ther was no good play. Sundays game were like chess matches with the best players playing united goal came from studying their opponents and striking at a weakness. Ricky as a follower of Italian football thought you would appreciate this??? Oh and a side note, Watch the way Man Utd played on Sunday(hard to break down and then scoring a timely goal) coz thats gunna be the way Capello wil make England play. Not preety but effective Also Arsenal to win |

I watched the games closely and i note your points however, although the games were chess like, it was'nt good play or individual pieces of skill that won the games. I was at the Milan v Juve game a few weeks ago and it was 0-0 but i felt it was a better game. Personally, i was disapointed a bit with United. I'll explain in a moment, firstly i believe United will win the premiership, i believe the have the best starting xi and best squad in the prem (nothing against pool, arsenal or chelsea fans, just a personal belief), and before Sunday i believed they would win the Champions League, now i'm not so sure. I have to say I was disappointed with United's ball retention and use of possession. Now I understand it was Anfield and the atmosphere/rivalry etc and all those factors but (to use a comparison) Arsenal used the ball much much better than United in midfield and created more chances. When United played Milan and even away to Roma last season, they gave the ball away far too easily. Indeed, United could'nt get the ball off Milan in some cases for 2,3 minutes. Despite having Anderson and Hargreaves i dont think United dominated possession at all well enough and I have'nt seen anything from United in the games against Arsenal and Liverpool that would make me confident they could do so away in Europe from the quarter final stages onwards |

Good points Ricky, I have to say that I agree with you. We did lose posession far too easily and Liverpool probably had the better of the ball, it's just they didn't create any clear chances. With Liverpool's closing down of the defence especially, I kept noticing how many times they were hitting long balls (especially Rio and Brown) and it was just coming straight back at us. |

We were away, and it was Anfield. exactly. plus we suffer not havng a big CF to hold the ball up front or win a header. United play to there strengths quick attackin play, SAF likes to keep the ball in the opponents half if we keep possesion at hard away grounds we need a better outlet like Rudd used to be he could hold the ball up(Rooney tries to take players on when he should wait for support, same as Ronie they will learn thou) dont think we can win Champ League without a out an out striker which we need. We keep the ball better when Saha plays. Remember when Barca had Romario and Stoitkov(spelling) upfront?? two brillant smaller players like Rooney and Tevez and played quick football and dominated their league, But millan dominated Europe coz they had a more pysical players up front Van Basten ect. |

<_< Arsenal only play with one upfront. Must have thought he could deal with him. Maybe Reid went CB or Dunn.. |
