i cant condone appalling tackle, but how many times did mikel boot him, could have easily been avoided if ref was observant

It's nearly Christmas
Rafa said about that too, he blames the referee.

Only saw the highlights. Obviously he snapped and lunged it was a red card offence clearly. Can not comment on the provocation didn't see the detail of that on the highlights programme.

btw Malbranque should have been sent off for his two footed tackle as well. Spurs would have then had to play with 9 men. Maybe different result?

There seems to be a lot of this two footed lunging going on atm.

Ya Crouch snapped for a moment, completly out of character for the guy, but I can't see how Benitez blamed the ref for it. Mikel was kicking a bit, but that happens in every game. I'm sure after he did it he regretted it immediately.

Saw the Zokora red card last night, prob shud of been yellow & Malbranque should of been red

Is it any good? I've seen the Madness of King George, that was an okay film.

dunno, I thought it was one of those films that was acted so well you were supposed to be impressed, it got awards etc.

I wouldn't ever buy a DVD of it.

Maybe there was also the frustration from crouch over not being selected in recent games, and having to prove himself so he gets picked ahead of Kuyt in future games? I may be wrong but every time he gets to start he must think he has to prove himself to the manager for the random game he gets. Then he sees Mikel as almost an unfair obstacle who is using every trick in the book to stop him having a chance of showing what he can do. That together with a view that the ref isn't helping and he snaps? It is very much out of character for Crouch and hence why I'm wondering whether there wasn't a number of reasons rather than just being clipped by the likes of Mikel. I'm not condoning it but perhaps it was a natural/predictable reaction in the overall circumstances?

Add in the impact of the flukey way Chelsea had just scored and I believe all this is correct.

That's mikel all over tho, he's a real chicken and I'm glad he ended up at chelsea and not united! Every time I see the guy all he does is do underhand dirty little tackles.
