I have know for a long time that Terry Venables is a losere. Now I know he'sa  bad loser.

This is just bile coming from a bitter little man. Venables seems to feel that he had an entitlement to manage Ireland. He seems to think that, once declared an interest, we should have been down on our knees in gratitude and tipping ouyr forelocks in respect.
Venables was a candidate, nothing more, nothing less. I examined his credentials for the job and did the same with many others mentioned - including Gerard Houllier, David O'Leary, Paul Jewell and Roy Hodgson.
All I did was set out the facts about Venables' track record - on and off the field.

I find it laughable and pathetic that Venables blames me for him not being appointed and he lacks any kind of grace or dignity. Genuine football people know we've got an outstanding manager in Giovanni Trapattoni and he has set up a superd backroom team with Marco Tardelli and Liam Brady on board. Anyone  who thinks Venables would have more to offer than those three men simply knows very little about football.

It is very important to point out  that there was a massive media propaganda campaign launched to get Venables the job.
That was designed to panic the FAI into appointing him and it nearly worked.
But the Irish fans never bought into the trumpeting of Venables. From the moment that his name was mooted, the fans were dead set against him.
Yet Venables' media cheerleaders decided they knew better and tried to force Venables down our throats.

The story circulated that several players would retire if Venables was not appointed. It has become clear in recent weeks that this was a blantant lie and several of the players mentioned have gone on record to rubbish it. The attempts to damage the mood concerning Trapattoni's appointment are pathetic.

The players have come out to say that they can;t wait to work with himand the fans love the idea of him taking over.
But a couple of blinkered eejjits in the media are still crying into their soup over Venables and its embarressing.
He has been out of work since October and he hasnt exactly been inundated with offers. Yet he thinks the Ireland job should have been handed to him on a plate. Its mind-boggling.

Venales has been a loser for most of his life and losers make a habit of whinging. And no one likes a whigner.
He's a desperate man with no dignity and he's relying on so-called friends in the media who really should be ashamed  of themselves.
The worst thing a journalist can do is to try and hoodwink their readers. The public didnt want Venables but his media cheerleaders showed utter contmept towards the people who are the lifeblood of Irish soccer by ignoring their views

 I love this man!!

Couldn't have said it better myself!

He just says controversial things to try and make himself look good and his merry brigade of brown nosers just think he's wonderful. :cheeky:

Yes he can be a pretentious sausage but in all of his rants he's had the best intentions for Irish football. He made a name for himself when Jack Charlton was in charge, while the whole nation was up Jacks arse he was pointing out the fact that we had possibly the best irish squad that has ever been and the way we were playing we seemed to be happy with a draw to Egypt at the World Cup.

He has been critical of the FAI and the way they have run Irish football, remember until Keano walked out of the World Cup and Dunphy went off the rails in the irish press at them, players were flying to matches in economy class while the FAI heads were flying 1st class, they were taking huge sums of money that should have been going to grassroots football over here and giving themselves huge bonuses, they were refusing to hire dieticians and were often buying the players fish and chips as meals before matches, they were hiring the cheapest and worst training grounds that they could(the reason Keano went nuts in Saipan in the 1st place) Dunphy was one of the only journalists to actually go against them as the press over here was very friendly with the fai.

I admit he goes too far in somethings he says and alot of the time is only being controversial to enhance his own reputation but he is and always has been one of the only journalists over here to really have the best interests of irish football at heart
