Only in the first half RD, it wasn't a half decent effort but it could have been - when beckham slid in. That's all I can think of

I bet he has learnt more in training than he has in the match............should have just gone to training ground with them for a week and forgot about match.

Would you fancy spending a week with Wayne Rooney! They don't pay him enough for that :P

As long as he brought donkey and puss in boots with him i would mind............find them kinda amusing.

I agree treb, J. Cole was poor but I thought A. Cole didn't do a lot wrong apart from a poor cross in the second half, on a par with any of the other England players imo. I just sat there praying for a bit of creativity, a dull game and hardly an attempt on goal by either side. Pity about that penalty because 0-0 would have done that game justice. The game was crying out for someone like Aaron Lennon, someone to run at the defence.

This was the same sort of performance that saw us not manage to qualify for Euro's. Yes i know its was only a friendly, but was a complete waste of time.

Skid it's not capello's way. I don't think he wanted a short term effect just to get a result. He does the same thing with clubs, starts off getting them to try and keep the ball and pass it about and try and figure out who's best tp play in his system.

He'll start with defence and the holding midfielders and gradually work his way up but his style will never be about playing free flowing attacking football. He is however capable of getting england to be solid and win matches. Whether the players are up to it is another story.

Give him a chance RD, very unfair to expect him to turn it around after 1 match. He's very methodical and a team builder in the true sense. Under Mcdonut we would've been trying to score any which way we can for the short term glory, capello isn't bothered about that.

I agree treb, I just wonder if that's his sustained plan. Difficult to draw any conclusions from two games but even wth the tighter formation the passes kept going astray and there was no product in the final 18. I just hope that he has a plan B up his sleeve when it matters and he injects a bit of pace into the team. Early days.

Not having a go at Cap, its just that the players seemed to treat it as a training match. A lot prob worried about injuries, and prob been warned by club to be careful and not risk an injury.

Capello out? :fishing:
What was with Barry and Hargreaves in CM together, thought that was strange. Beckham's passing/crossing was excellent.
