i only saw the second half but from what i saw, france were all over england.england were crap

Hello earth to all the England fans. Capello is REBUILDING the squad. That takes time and you're bound to get bad matches, that's why it's called rebuilding people. It is a work in progress. Anyway, what makes you think you could beat France, they are a top team, and on the current evidence (you not qualifying for the EC) England are NOT at the moment. You naysayers are almost as bad as newcastle fans who still believe they are title contenders, when their squad has needed rebuilding for ages. Give Fabio some time, it'll come good.

i'm not an england fan dutch.i'm from ireland

Sorry woodbine, my bad. I was however commenting on all these people slating their own team *sigh* it's so short sighted.

The day England realises that international football is'nt anything like premiership football & then realise that they have'nt that many players suited to international football & pick the one's that are suited will be the day they start suceeding in it.

Wingers win you fork all at that level, move Rooney to the fantasia postion (ie, the classic no 10 role), start playing Carrick who can actually pass a ball & dictate the pace of the game, realise that maybe Lampard and Gerrard can't play together, etc etc.....

exactly rooney needs to play in gerrard's position last night with carick feedin him balls from deep very simple with joe cole and bentley supportin rooney. the rest of the team don't really matter get the top part right and we r onto a winner
Rivaldo greatest player in my time

Rebuilding or not though Dutch, you'd expect top footballers (which they are supposed to be) to get the basics right such as short passing and simple crossing into the danger area of the box instead of hitting it to the goalkeeper everytime. The amount of crosses that were put in too close to the keeper or that hit the first man was unbelievable. I only watched the second half but my mate said the first half was even worse so I dread to think what that was like...

Spot on manu23, Bent or Ashton are the only English strikers that can play that role effectively. Shame Bent is at a club where he doesn't get games...

well international games are always more dificult. It's not so much how they play. They have to have the right attitude and chemistry. That's what Capello is doing. finding that is dificult enough, even great quality players need time for that, especially since they don't train with their international teammates often. Relieve a bit of the pressue on the players, and they'll find their feet. The French seemed very impressed with the England squad for example.

Well a good thing for him would be to leave Spurs, im sure alot of top clubs would be interested in his services.

If they do sell him they should expect to lose 6-8 million.

You'll Never Win Anything

So from how crap they played can we say that the chemistry just isn't there? I know they were playing against a top country (a depleted one at that) but i'd expect them to create one clear cut opportunity and get the basics right. Dunga said the England squad is close in quality to Brazils too but it doesn't relaly mean diddly whilst they are playing so poorly.

Yeah Bent should leave Spurs for the sake of his career unless he's happy with the role he's playing there. I reccon he only joined Spurs because he thought Berbatov would be going.
