As have i said, bl00dy silly time to have a friendly. Players more concerned about not getting injured with CL match being the next game for a lot of them. Even the ones that arent involved in CL or title race r pushing for UEFA cup next season or fighting relegation. With 4 teams in CL, 3 still fighting for Prem and 6 or so fighting relegation did anyone really expect them to give 100%. Would have been told by their managers to take it easy.

I can't really see these players getting themselves jazzed up for games now, knowing the next major international tournament for them is more than two years away.

But why were France able to do the opposite of what England did with all the same issues?

Anelka, Makelele, Malouda at Chelsea going for the title and cl with Chelsea were all able to perform better than Ashley & Joe Cole!

Gallas & Thuram, Abidal at Arsenal & Barca respectively are battling for League & CL honours

Ribery the German League & UEFA Cup

Coupet, Clerc & Toulalan are going for the French league

It's an easy excuse RD imo i'm afraid

Not using it as excuse, France were poor, we were worse. Watching it was like watching a training match...................neither team had any real get up and go.
