Joe Lewis Called Up To England Squad

Peterborough United goalkeeper Joe Lewis has been drafted into the England squad by Fabio Capello.

Lewis has been added to the party for the upcoming friendlies against the United States and Trinidad & Tobago due to a fitness concern over one of the keepers already in the squad.

Capello originally selected David James, Chris Kirkland and Joe Hart for the friendly double-header, but it is unclear which of the trio is carrying a knock.

To provide cover, Capello has called on Lewis, who only made his debut for the Under 21 side as a substitute for Hart in the win over Wales earlier this month.

Fantastic experience

Posh director of football Barry Fry confirmed that the youngster had been summoned to train with the England senior side.

"This is fantastic news for Joe and Peterborough United," Fry told the club's official website.

"I believe there has been an injury to one of the goalkeepers in the squad and they have called Joe up. It will be a fantastic experience for him."

Lewis was a club record signing for Peterborough from Norwich in January and played a key role in the club clinching promotion to League One.

Capello doesn't like Rob Green does he.

Why did Norwich sell him to a lower division team if he's good?

Ooooh Rob Green ommited yet again, I think it's because of his lack of ability when it comes to corners and crosses.
