IN a bid to win back unhappy Manchester City fans, owner Thaksin Shinawatra has promised a £65million transfer kitty.

Barcelona's Ronaldinho is being linked with a move but supporters are angry popular boss Sven Goran Eriksson's future is in doubt.

A City source said: "The owner's family have told him how badly the fans have taken it all but he seems confident things will soon be forgotten.

"His people insist he has an ace up his sleeve."

I think they mean he's just been cheating at poker last night and forgot he had the Ace of Spades up his shirt sleeve. :P

It's not a very wise move saying how much money a club has available I know that.

True, he got the players in last Summer very cheaply and they will have all risen in price now. Petrov for under £5m

Yeah we need to keep Sven if we want that money well spent... I agree with you Flak on it not being a wise to release the amount of money market wise... Still it's good news I think...

I think Thanksins U-turned his decision on sacking Sven, thank god. Whether Sven will stay after being told he had the boot earlier, well that's to him to decide. He's a dignified man and you'd think he'd stay, financially secure, in Europe and with the love of the fans.
In my opinion we will still see Sven in charge of Man City come the start of next season.

That's the same vibe as I've been feeling Klaas, I won't be calm about it till it's actually confirmed though (tbh I'm quite obsessed with this whole will he or won't he be sacked thing). If Sven Stays I see a nice future for city..

Until the end of next season when it will be debated all over again. I think he's likely to stay now as well.

Yeah it's good news in that it's a fair bit of money. I wonder how much the other teams around will spend?
