Fergie said in an interview the other day "Once RVN signed that contract [for utd] I knew he was going to leave" So, if true I would read too much into the new contract. He clearly wants to play in Spain, just wish he'd shut up about it becuase it will just encourage Real more. |

Where's his heart? <_< I do wonder if all of this is just so he'd get an improved contract now you know. I'm fed up of them fleecing the club.

a longer contract should mean more cash for him and an increase in his price tag its the buy out clauses that cause the problems as players dont have to honour their contacts <_< |

Yeah this new rule that only seems to have come to light the past couple of years. I wonder who invented it and why it was introduced. |

its a pain i dont understand how it works???? surley there must be some protection for the clubs other wise players could just buy themselves out and then get massive signing on fees to compesate and still be quids in

You can find out about it here. It seems to be all about that protected period and they can only do it after so long. |

If he dies, He dies!
|
The way I see it is that he will be one player going out of the prem just at a time when alot of exciting players want to play their trade in the prem. It was proven the Prem teams are among the best around with United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all romping to the latter stages of the Champions League. I would like to believe therefore that that would be enough for Ronaldo to want to stay. But it clearly runs deeper than winning medals and playing in the best league, its about playing in a warm country more similar to his homeland and with a team he views as being more prestegious. I want him to stay. I thought that after we won the final the emotion of the occasion and the size of the acheivment he might think differently, and it appeared he might have done immediately after, but as it has all died down maybe his old feelings have re-immerged. Like I've said before I have no problem with him wanting to play with his boyhood team as it were. But the fact he is being indecisive over the situation and/or won't even make a bold statement to quash any speculation is riling me up. Much like when Rio fannied around with his contract negotiations. VIVA RONALDO - ...do hope i'll be singing that for a few more years to come.

yep the whole thing is a little dull now, but ronaldo does himself and his club no favours. Why doesnt he just say im staying at Man Utd for at least another season and thats that. We have the same problem with cesc every season, but once again he has come out and said he is staying for at least another 2 seasons so real and barca are wasting there time. I just dunno why ronaldo cant do that... |

I think with Cesc I believe he wants to and enjoys playing for Arsenal, where as with Ronny, well he always says he wants to play in spain "ONE DAY" its just not clear if that one day will be in 2008 or 2010. If he did infact move to Real Madrid, after all this I probably wouln't even be shocked now. |
