The Blues are currently without a manager following the sacking of Avram Grant after a trophyless season, with ex-Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard and Russia coach Guus Hiddink favourites to take the reins.

But whoever is appointed may arrive to find a significantly altered squad from the one that fell to Manchester United in the Champions League last week.

Although Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has played down talk of wholesale changes over the summer, Abramovich is reportedly keen to overhaul the team as he seeks a more attractive brand of football.

And The Mail claims the Russian billionaire is preparing to offer want-away striker Didier Drogba and defender Ricardo Carvalho plus cash in order to tempt Milan to part with the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year.

It is not the first time in recent months Chelsea have been linked with an audacious bid, the club shouting down claims they were prepared to pay ₤80 million for Barca prodigy Lionel Messi.

And nor would it be the first time Abramovich has bought a player – a Milan player, indeed – without the manager’s consent, as he famously spent ₤30 million to bring Andriy Shevchenko to Stamford Bridge despite then-manager Jose Mourinho’s disapproval.

Kaka, signed a contract extension with the Rossoneri in February, is currently out of action after undergoing surgery on his left knee.

Canyou really see this happening? I can imagine him moving but not to Chelsea :S

Kaka said he likes the way united and Arsenal play so if he did come to england they would be his preffered destination

He could always teach Chelsea how to play football like himself. :P

I can really see Carvalho fitting in at Milan, he seems like their type of player. They are known to want Drogba but I very much doubt they would let go of Kaka as it would be a step backwards for them. Good deal for Chelsea imo.

if any of the rumours we keep hearing are true roman is crazy chelsea only need a few tweaks hear and there not whole sale changes they came a very close second in 3 comps this season and could have taken all 3

if roman wants to constanly meddle then maybe he should have a go at managing his team.he is destroying along with kenyon the fabric of chelsea throwing endless amouts of cash at the club is not the way to progress unless that money is spent wisely the first person/people to leave should have been kenyon and anybody else who is advising on the running of the club .
john terry holds to much say over the team he underminded grant all season causing negativity towards grant. john terry maybe a fans favourite but he is a sneaky b***ard he sucks up to the manager and goes on tv saying how "the boss has our full support" then leads the revolt against him just like he did with jose Posted Image john judas terry

 Nice pic.

It does seem like there will be big changes at the club over the Summer with lots of ins and outs. One thing that puzzles me is why did they sign Bosingwa (Grant's signing???) if they were going to sack him.

Chelsea really do need to sign some quality teenagers and early 20 somethings in order to progress and not keep splashing out loads on players in their prime who are only going to be at the club a few years.

You find that top players are linked with most of the top clubs around the world. I can't see Chelsea buying somebody just to stop another club buying them otherwise they will have half of the world's top players at the club.
