Like the Italians, the Germans are winners, it's pretty much that simple.

All 3 nations are probably equal in technical ability but the other grab a goal when it's most needed and don't concede at the worst possible time - winning mentality and it's a shame England can't replicate that.

Their mentality is great, they have great team ethic, they can play as a team, there are only a few big heads, they know how to play to their tactics and can adapt their game.

I still think that it's because England don't know how to slow it down and retain posession, that comes from playing in the high-tempo Premier League and their technique not being at it's best.

red thru and thru.
we pick players because they are the best, what england should be doing is picking players who play as a team best,ie lampard and gerrard cant play together but they still keep getting picked, maybe cappelo will do what the italians do and play the best team no matter what age.

Germany have a balanced team, England dont. We r weak in Keepers, v strong in defence, strong in midfield (if they can play together) but very weak in attack.

The Germans do fit players into positions that arent their natural position ie Podolski, He is a forward but the national team use him as a wide player as they dont have anyone else as good. Germans also have as much pressure as the English do from press and fans (every tournament no matter how poor they are they are among the favs) the difference is they use it too spur them on. I believe its simply a case of each player stands up and makes himself counted and a desire not to let your teammates and Country down where as with the England squad they dont care as long as they are fit to play for their club at the weekend its fine.

Exactly Treble, they just show far more pride in the jersey they have been fortunate enough to be given the chance to wear.
