France Keep Faith In Domenech

Defeat against Italy at Euro 2008 hasn’t cost France boss Raymond Domenech his job after the outspoken tactician's contract was extended.

Les Bleus were desperately disappointing at the European Championship and fell at the first hurdle after a draw with Romania and defeats against Italy and Holland.

Domenech, who controversially opted to snub Serie A stars Philippe Mexes and David Trezeguet, came in for some stinging criticism after the competition and many expected him to be shown the door.

However, a statement from French Football Association chief Jean-Pierre Escalettes has confirmed that Domenech will be in the role until 2012.

They may not qualify for the World Cup. They have Serbia and Romania in their group.

We're forked. Montenegro as well - they are actually going to be good.

I'd give anything to have Roy back :D

Some very very poor decisions were made. No Vieira OR Flamini? How he managed that one I do not know.

They were both in the squad.

Viera wanted him to remain as boss and so did some of the other players, Diarra of Pompey was one I think....all because he knows the young players well. Can't have much faith i nthem though if he's still putting the old timers in the team.

Did he keep his job by reading the French FA boss's horoscope.....

Capricorn,

People will be telling you to sort out a major personnel issue with someone believed to be under-performing. This however is not the case and in the long term doubling his salary and extending his contract will be seen as a move of inspired genius. Have the courage of your convictions, nobody tells a Capricorn what to do and besides you should be more concerned about the safety of your children as they walk to school.
