euros i think that £4m left over plus the money from the alonso deal would of funded the baryy deal. then the money off carson and other sales would of went towards keane. oh what a difference a year makes

Yea but we never wanted to sell him in the first place so if liverpool do pull out we still get to keep him.

do you really want him after all thats happened, hes takin the pizz , put the prat in the reserves and let him realise what side his bread is buttered, im gettin sick of these so called star players showing nothin but contempt for there present clubs

Yea but u now as well as i do that if he stays and puts in a load of good performances this whole episode will be forgotten about and we fans will be singing his name from the stands.

I think you're right, but a humble public apology to manager and fans would help, IMO. He doesn't have to grovel, but something along the lines of, "I got a bit carried away dreaming of CL football, now I realise that I'm actually better off at Villa" etc

Becasuee next season they will have a player on their books whos able to buy out his remaining year of contract for approx a 1/4 of the 18 million price i guess?

If you have a player who doesn't want to be at your club, as soon as you realise that, it's time for him to be sold. Barry won't sign another contract with Villa now so it's just a case of sell him now or be prepared to lose him for a meagre amount next year or even nothing the year after.

Villa have been acting stupidly! wtf!

They didn't want to sell him in the first place but they did want to buy Carson, Liverpool's response £10m but ended up agreeing a price of £3.5-£4.0m (depending on source).

Add in Crouch for £20m! later sold elsewhere for £9m-£11m.

Come on take your rose coloured glasses off it's Liverpool who have acted most stupidly! :P
