The rumour is now that agent is telling FL not to sign new deal and sign a pre-deal with Inter in Jan. Agent will pocket a fortune. |

I'm not sure about this but i'd make an educated guess that before Abramovich came along with his roubles that United were leading in the wage stakes and setting the precident with other clubs having to raise their wages to match. It's no different from what's happening now really...apart from the minor detail of United doing it with money they earnt as opposed to the owners money.

football is out of control the wages are beyond crazy i aint one to criticise these foreign players but this is a english league... i make a bet now in 6 or so years when the likes of gerrard and car retire for pool we will be the new arsenal.... something needs to be done and what the hell is up with ticket prices- liverpool increased their prices by 9 percent while many other clubs as well. |

Ticket prices go up with inflation but they do seem to have risen higher than that. Has the number of English players coming through fallen? It seems that way. Rise of the Playstation... |

of course they have fallen its like once every 5 years now a world class english player comes through remember the times of when teams like pool and arsenal used to have 5 english players in their team. a rule needs to be added at least 3 english players per team to not help the present because the current english squad is world class (individual wise) but the future which looks very bleak |

some of his points are stupid and how phrased the 6+5 is dumb but his point is correct why do people seem to forget the 6 plus 5 rule would apply to ALL COUNTRIES. however i do think 6 is a bit extreme to 3 is more fair 3 would mean a minimum of 18 english players playing against europes best |

Once every 5 years.
Surely not?I take it that you mean 3 English players on the pitch at the same time and not just on the bench/in the squad? 3 sounds very reasonable and easy to manage. It'd still push player prices up even higher than they already are though. |

Micah Richards was probably the last talent that came through properly. Walcott maybe this season. These kids aren't just going to become world class overnight, it'll take years. 3 would bother clubs? Substitutions would be tricky. You'd have to have one English and one foreign player for each position on the bench.

difference is young up coming spanish or italian players are being played in the big stages at top clubs or at least in champions league just look at valencia- they are breeding great spanish players ya richards may be good but needs to play at the best level to become class and no offense to walcot but the upcoming players in itaky and spain p*** over him |

That's true and again it all boils down to the money in the Premiership and the clubs not being able to take chances with youngsters. Good example was last season when United played Pique against Bolton and it was his mistake which led to Anelka scoring and them winning 1-0. Could have cost United millions and the Premiership title that. |
