I don't think i've seen him. :S

It will be difficult for him to get games, even Fletcher struggles these days and he's an established first team player in the same position.

Not to take anything away from Fletcher who's a great squad player, but Possebon offers a lot more than Fletcher did at that age and has the potential to be in the 1st team one day.

yeah no question it will be difficult for him to get in above scholes, carrick, anderson, hargreaves and fletcher but i think he has the tallent. if we put faith in him early or loan him out to another premiership side so he can develop on the front line. reserve team football is a waste for these players

I agree, it's not a high enough level playing i nthe reserves.

This is when it's not a good idea to have too many squad players like O'Shea and Fletcher.

This from the guy who pointed out the Pique error = Anelka goal = Bolton beating Utd.

The gulf is too high between reserve team and PL, given the risks involved, I think loaning him out for his education is a great idea. How old is he anyway?

possabun should be loaned to a pl side. the guy is supposed to fill in scholes spot and be a cover for anderson and is good enough to be in the team at the moment but loaning him out would mean more games for him and he would be able to adept to the league

he probably would feature in the cups games but thats not enough for him. a reguler place in pl side would give him the exprience needed to replace scholes in the future

I think it means he's too good for the reserves. Look at Martin and Eagles who are in the first team squad yet nowhere even near challenging the players to get in.

I did, but what can you do Sense, it's a no win situation.

red thru and thru.
you are never going to replace scholes through the academy,i hope they do but i cant see it, i think the only way to replace someone like him is to buy a world class player,he was a one of IMO.

Fletch was already lined up for his first team debut at 16 before the PL stopped it due to him still being in education. As he completed his education he picked up a serious injury which stopped him making his debut for a couple of seasons due to the seriousness of the injury. Im not convinced that this kid is anywhere near ready for first team action yet.

anyone watch the game?

"Possebon’s first two touches oozed confidence and class, as the young Brazilian slotted easily into his central midfield role. Later, when he sprayed a pass 40 yards out to Martin on the left wing, it was just like watching Paul Scholes."

get in!

I hear great things about Possebon.

Scholes was sensation today. He only played the last 20 minutes but what an exhibition it was.
Simmer...
