If the under 21 European Championships is considered a major competition, what's the difference?

Ah c'mon theres a huge difference. It would be impossible to fit it into the calender considering the Euro's the same year and the U21 is on every two years too.
If they had it on the calender then there'd have to be a qualification rounds, and that wouldnt fit in.
Also the clubs dont recoginze it so FIFA never will.

“The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game.”
i dont particularly have a problem with the younger players going because i think it would be a good experience for them. saying that i think the overage player rule should be scrapped. i do think league clubs have the right to stop players playing in the olympics tho.

also the african nations should be moved to december and we should be give a winter brake imo

But it's likely to be different players going to the Olympics rather than the Euros.

They do have qualification rounds, they don't just pick the teams out of a hat.
