Bergkamp's goal against Newcastle epitomises his class but I feel RVN had a bigger impact in his time at United. He created goals out of nothing, instinctive, a preditor and pretty much a goal-machine. Always produced in the big games too.

Couldn't care less about his off the field activities, I am comparing them as footballers.

Bergkamp obviously has more to his game and tends to play in the hole weaving his magic, but his goal return in his 11 years at Arsenal is average.

Bergkamp 106 goals in 11 years.

RVN 150 goals in 5 years. Prolific.

So in my opinion, RVN more than makes up for his lack of creativity, guile and artistry with his far superior goal record.
