A footballer is due to appear in court to face a charge of burglary relating to the theft of cash and mobile phones from a nightclub staff room. Southampton midfielder Nathan Dyer, 20, was charged alongside team-mate Bradley Wright-Phillips with the non-dwelling burglary offence at the Bar Bluu club in Southsea, Hampshire, on February 28. The pair, who both live in Briton Street, Southampton appeared previously at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on July 8. Wright-Phillips, 23, and Dyer were arrested after staff at the nightclub reported the alleged theft. The court heard that cash totalling £145, two mobile phones, a driving licence, two bank cards and other personal effects were allegedly stolen during the burglary. Dyer did not enter a plea but Wright-Phillips indicated that he would plead not guilty and elected for his case to be heard by a judge and jury at the Crown Court. Dyer is to appear before Portsmouth magistrates while the next appearance for Wright-Phillips at the same court will be on September 2 for a committal hearing. Jesus, if true, what a couple of sausagets..............20k+ a week and they do this. Full Story |

One is on 5k the other on 8k not that it makes any difference. How can he plead not guilty? They have it on CCTV even tho he didn't steal anything he still watched the other steal the thing. |

Reminds me of when Glen Johnson was caught nicking a toilet seat from B+Q.Cupcake was on 20k+ and decides to stick a toilet seat under his jacket. There was a guy around my area, friend of my ex-girlfriend that was a great footballer, got a trial at Celtic and decided to nick a load of tracksuits for his mates, never got another trial again when he was caught. Footballers ain't the brightest of people it would appear. |

Times must have been hard for him. Maybe he just wanted to take a dump in the car park but didn't fancy hovering over a bucket. |

Update: Dyer has been ordered to carry out 60 hours of community service. The 20-year-old said he was ashamed after he admitted rummaging through bags belonging to staff at the Bar Bluu club on Southsea seafront on February 28. He said he did not steal any of the items during the incident, which involved four other men. Chairman of the Bench Christopher Malone also ordered Dyer, who was dressed in a dark suit with black tie, to pay a total of £392.50 compensation to the four victims as well as £65 costs.
