Anvil, I am not over 50 and I greatly admire your command of English, which is not your first language, but sometimes you do express yourself in a non-deliberate but amusing way. Culturally we Brits do take the p1ss out of each other, it is not meant to be insulting, indeed best friends are frequently ruthless and rude to each other but no offence is taken. I read your response and immediately imagined it being said by Yoda. Pointing that out to others was clearly amusing, but the amusement was not meant to be at your expense. It just was funny. I speak a couple of languages conversationally, but I couldn't join a forum and make the sort of insightful observations and contribution you make in this one in another language. So respect to you, please don't take offence. Although I am not a Liverpool fan, I think Keane will be played as a second striker with Gerrard being an attacking CM, or even given a more free/fluid role. To counter this Mascherano will be key as a holding DM behind him, affording him this freedom. Defenders will be very much that, with emphasis on 'defend' because personally I think it will then be Babbel and Kuyt out wide, because that would give Liverpool the element of, 'sh1t, who do we have to concentrate on to stop them scoring?' with opposing teams. Imagine having to stop Torres, Keane, Gerrard, Babbel and Kuyt, not many teams will be up to the task, IMO. If they added a truly class RW as well they would have a very impressive line up. For a more defensive set up Alonso comes in for Babbel (or Kuyt) and Gerrard plays a bit more structured midfield role, but it still gives you a Torres/Keane forward line. |

agree with you totally there TS, the potential attacking line up is looking formidable, defence needs to be really solid though but there are some good options from back to front now. It will certainly be interesting to see the main formation used. |
