They have the team to do it but you wouldn't see any of the other top 4 managers coming out and saying the same.

Haven't read what he actually said but if he said we want to try and win all 4 competitions we enter, there's nothing wrong with that?

Papers making it out to be something that it's not. This is what he said...

Quote:

"We have four competitions this season and I try to win all four," said the former Brazil and Portugal national coach.

"It is the same for the players. It will be very difficult but we have the team for it, we have the players for it. Chelsea have also given me everything I have wanted.

"I try and give confidence to my players. They sometimes make mistakes but I tell them that this is normal as long as they train hard. If they do their best the rest is my problem."

His English isn't brilliant so maybe a better translation would be.....

We're in 4 competitions and with a squad like ours we have to try and win all 4. I'm getting paid sh1tloads by Chelsea, so what else would you expect me to say?

This is now my squad so if they try their best and fail then I'll be the one sacked.

True Sense. :D

Chelsea (and United) weren't that far off the quadruple a season or two ago, I think that they just ran out of steam towards the end though. You'd need a big squad and a bucket full of luck to win the quadruple.

Exactly, if they're in Europe and therefore have 4 to go for.

Scolari didn't claim that they are going to win all 4, just that they will try to win all 4 so it's more mischief mongering by the press IMO...better headline!

Not really, they will often field weak sides in the Carling Cup and early rounds of the FA Cup because they come second to the Prmiership and Europe.

they feild week teams to give players a rest for more important comps, and give younger players some experience, but it doesnt mean they dont try to win.

True but they would be far more likely to lose by fielding a weakened team.
