Evertons young striker Jose Baxter has been the star of their pre seasonn games so far, setting up or scoring in each game he`s played. Without putting the mockers on the lads career, he looks like the most exciting prospect to come through the ranks at Goodison since Wayne Rooney. By the age of 15 Baxter had broken Patrick Kluivert's goalscoring record at International youth level and has broken Wayne Rooney's, Ian Rush's and Michael Owen's records at club youth level. He also has secured himself with sponsorship from Nike, one of the youngest footballers to do so. He made his First Team debut in a friendly against FC Sion on 12/07/08. He scored his first goal for Everton FC against Nottingham Forest FC in a pre-season friendly. |

Hes only a young lad so obviously hes a long way from the finished article, but if he continues to progress as he is, he could be a real find. I only hope he shows a bit more loyalty than Rooney did. |

Sounds like one for the future. What is it with Everton and producing strikers. ![]() Is he an out-and-out striker? |

I think so Flak. (From the Everton website): The Bootle born striker has been at the club since he was 6 years old. Renowned for his goal scoring ability, Baxter has represented England at under 16 level and also attended Everton pre-season tour of Switzerland in 2008. |

Quite a lot of experience at youth level. He's at the right club anyway since Everton have a habit of giving their strikers a chance. Isn't Vaughan still holder of the record for youngest goalscorer i nthe Premiership? |

problem is if he makes any sort of impact then Everton are unlikely to hold on to him |
