That's Gomes Spurs new keeper...

Quote:

"I am not thinking of just making it into the first four," Gomes told Sky Sports News.

"I am thinking of winning, being first or second, in that range."

"Some people might say I am aiming very high, but that has always been my thinking.

"I think as a champion and I want to win."

Is there anything wrong with thinking of winning or is he just kidding himself and will end up bitterly disappointed by the end of the season?

It's good to be positive, but unless they beef up their spine I'm afraid their just too far away.

Well, there's no point in them playing if they're not going to aim for the top.

Well, there's no point in them playing if they're not going to aim for the top.

That's like saying Derby should have been aiming for the top last season instead of top of the upside down league. :P

One step at a time I think...they should be looking at getting top 4 first which is probably the biggest hurdle facing them at the minute.

I'm not saying they should expect to be there come the end of the season, but they should be AIMING to win every game otherwise what's the point?

it all depends on how well the do against the top 4teams IMO if they beet all of them once then they have a fair chance of winning the league. they are considerably stronger than about 12 of the teams, they also need to do the business at everton, pompy and villa
