City players feel invincible after the 6-0 drubbing of Pompey. Doesn't look like they have let the fear of new signings and increased competition affect them much.

lets face it lads pompey are a good side, yes they had a off day but there still a good side, they were made to look well below there true standard. were bound to feel invincible after that performance, and rightly so. but when alls said and done you dont win anything in only one game, the new lads have only trained together a few times and look at the result. if were still riding high come january, then with a few buys, we should be able to sustain our position, so im not celebrating yet, but i cant see us being bellow 6th when you consider where we have been, its a great time for us. remind me again how much is the cost of silver polish, were gonna need a truck full... In a way this is a good thing looking at it as a United fan. In the past this has been a tricky fixture for us for obvious reasons due to local rivalry and the matches being more like a cup game. But with the quality in Man City at the moment other teams especially the title contenders will also have a tricky time there, the likes of liverpool and arsenal. Chelsea did well to get a win there and get this match out of the way early on imo. |

Great win for City, i was shocked when i seen the score. Pompey are a good solid team who don't really concede many goals. I think City will finish 5th or 6th, if thy do make some good buys in Jan they could even push for fourth |

im tryin not to get too carried away, but that performance was one of the best team performances ive seen in years, it took me back to the day when we where a threat to any team, (late 60 early 70s) if that can happen after 2 or 3 training sessions what are we gonna be like after 4 to five months, and they get to know each other instinctively, BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU MOOOOOOOOOOOON

Pompey are just an average side in all honesty. Good strike force, especially Defoe, but Campbell is ageing. |

He is THAT old jeebus.... He really is..... Of course the players will be feeling invincible.... And I must say I can't really blame them.... There performance was awesome... I loved every minute of the match.... and even though Robinho got all the headlines with his lovely sambatricks SWP and Ireland were equally brilliant (I love the fact that we have SWP back) There was definite room for improvement though... especially in defence (and especially the LB position). We'll be a tricky team for anyone I think... But before we really can challenge for the top four some improvements need to be made.... Doesn't make me feel any less happy though.... We scored 15 goals in 5 pl matches (the most of all clubs this far) and we look like a good and solid team... I am surprised at how well Robinho is adapting to his new team, and he seems to be enjoying himself immensely as well.... Cristiano look out

Hey old man! 49! what an old b*ggar you are, but still don't think you were that aware of what was going on in 1963. However, I must say how chuffed I am for you, a game/result like that is amazing. It must really, and clearly does, feel great! Pompy are no mugs (well generally) but they were mugged good and proper yesterday. Well done City. Biggest result since 10:1 against Huddersfield Town, when was that one? late 80's? You lot will be over the blue moon today. |
