Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has revealed that he struggled to survive the training regime at White Hart Lane after arriving in the Premier League. The Russia international, a £13.8million signing from Spartak Moscow, is yet to score for Spurs and admits he has found it hard to adjust to life under Juande Ramos. He said: "In England they have a different system of training. When there is a week's gap between games, training is serious. I barely survived it when I'd just arrived. "I looked at my watch and saw that the training session had gone on for exactly two hours! Then another half an hour in the gym. Two and a half hours. Can you imagine that? Pavlyuchenko, 26, told the Russian Sovetski-Sport newspaper: "I trained like never in my life before. The weights started to get to me, and I stopped and said to the trainer, 'I can't do this'. "That's how they work - I'm shocked. I thought it would be a lot easier." __________________________________________________________________ got a feeling he may be off end of the year if he still hasn't settled in |

Not all that surprising really..... Training standards in most of Russia is extremely low... Hiddink said in an interview on dutch television that when he first saw pavlyuchenko he looked and played like lamppost.... But after he had been drilled in the Hiddinks heavy training regime he was getting movement and everything.... Getting there workload during training up was one of Hiddinks main concerns during the EC.... Most players were just not used to hiddinks longer hours....Players of Zenith are one of the few exceptions, as advocaat is more up to date in his training methods.... I think Pavlyuchenko just has had a very big shock and he'll either get over it (which I think is likely, he's athletic enough, once he gets his condition up I think he'll be fine) or he'll break and we'll never hear of him again |

He'd link up better with Bent. I don't think Pavulychenko and Bent can play together effectively. Better player as well, Pavulychenko needs 6 chances to score.

Bent has played up on his own and hasn't done it so far this season. If he ain't scoring you can't really keep him in the team can ya. |
