Before people are saying these billianare owners are ruining football we need to look closer to home with the standards of referee's I honestly didnt see the united vs bolton game yesterday so I cant comment on the referee's overall performance but the penalty decision was just laughable And watching bennett's performance today was just well...................A joke to be perfectly honest. The last thing I want to do (because I hate it when people do it) is blame the referee but he was just an joke (put it as nice as I can) today and should really consider retiring after his performance today. 1/10 from me today and I'm being kind. |

Referees on the whole do a good job..they inevitably make mistakes but the course of a game is not all that often changed due to poor decisions...they can continue how they are and the game is just as good. I love football for what it is... Now, about money, that seriously could ruin the game. I can't believe Flak is not worried about Liverpool obtaining unlimited funds...the FA need to step in like a few experts believe they could do. |

it makes me sick that everytime a decision goes against a set of fans they pop up talking about the refs ruining the game... you never hear from most of them unless it cost them points and even find it funny when bad decisions cost teams they dont like... its laughable |

I agree the money could ruin the game, but I disagree about banning teams from being taken over now. That would be too late and very unfair if they banned teams getting taken over now. That would leave teams like city and chelsea with massive advantages over everyone else. |

U couldnt ban most teams from getting taken over, most teams r companies owned by shareholder. U couldnt stop peeps selling those shares. The only teams that prob couldnt be taken over r the ones that r owned by the fans. i.e. R Madrid, Barca. Not sure if there r such teams in England. Didnt watch game, but if u believe reports thats now 2 penalties awarded this w/e that shouldnt have been. Bring in Video reply for those kind of decisions, then it makes it all a level playing field. Be easier for the refs and the players. |

swings and roundabouts one week they can lose you a match, one week they will win you a match. Samba goal against Newcastle was offside

Bit of a cliche but it is part of the game. Having said that I think Bennett is without doubt one of the most pig-headed shortsighted arrogant mini-hitler on the pitch. As far as teams go he doesn't have any favourites (except the love for himself) he just has a general disdain for all clubs it seems. @El - tbf mate this idea that the decisions even themselves out isn't true. Usually you get given a bad peno against you and you lose the match 2-1 like City today, and then when you get a bad peno awarded to you, you're already 2 nil up and comfortably winning a game where that doesn't make any difference |

What would you have to complain about if they got everything right? Referees posing as a hate figure is part of the game and has been for god knows how many years... |

Christ...talk about blinkered. Just watched MOTD and when you first see the Wigan penalty it looks quite clearcut..so the ref's decision is understandable. Then you watch the replay, and again, it still looks a penalty. YES, he overexaggerates, but contact is made. Steve Bruce is SPOT ON. |

the difference between referees now and referees in the bygone era's is technology. You can watch a tackle a real speed from 2 people from the same vantage point and still have a different view. nowadays, it's super slo mo, from 18 different angles so the "panelist" can get that 1 angle at 1/16 speed to prove his point. The game is quicker now, the split decision has to be made in an instant and the ref is always going to make mistakes. There are 2 ways for this scenario to go forward; Use technology so the right decisions are made, or get off the refs back. They don't actually make bad decisions on purpose, whatever you may think. |
