They are third behind Inter (6 points clear) and Juve ahead on goal difference. |

ROME (AFP) — Former Ballon d'Or winner Kaka is unhappy with his new role in the AC Milan team since the arrival of the man he succeeded as the world's best player, Ronaldinho. Speaking to Gazetta dello Sport, Kaka blamed his reduced effect on the struggling giants, who have failed to win in their last four matches, on the fact that Ronaldinho has taken over his role in the team. And with Manchester City reportedly sniffing around a record bid for the Brazilian, this will be music to their ears and a great worry for the Italians. "I'm trying to adapt tactically because I often find myself working closer to the midfield and that's not what I want to do," he moaned. "I like to play closer to the strikers, even if I understand the demands of the team. "The fact of the matter is that everyone expects me to make a difference, with an assist or a goal, and if I don't manage to do so, I get criticised. "It's just that I don't always manage to do what I want and sometimes that's sacrificing myself for the team." Ronaldinho has been a revelation for Milan since joining from Barcelona, and in the process turning down Man City, during the off season. He's scored several vital goals and Kaka admits that he is finding it difficult having the limelight taken away. "All I know is that I want to return to giving 100 percent to this team but right now I'm only managing to give 70 percent," he said. "For me it's not easy thinking that I'm not making a difference for Milan. "Ronnie has fitted in really well and is giving us great help but before I was used to playing in a certain way that had been consolidated over several years. "(Clarence) Seedorf and me behind a striker, usually (Filippo) Inzaghi on his own. "With Ronaldinho the team has had to change its order and hence now we have to get used to having the same instincts with him in the team." Kaka is, however, looking forward to the arrival of former England captain David Beckham on loan during the January transfer window. And despite Beckham assuring his current employers Los Angeles Galaxy that his move will be only for two months, the Brazilian is hoping the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man can be persuaded to stay on. "I'm happy (he's coming), he will help us to achieve our aims for the season," said Kaka. |

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester City are lining up a €17 million bid for Esteban Cambiasso, the Inter Milan midfielder. Although perhaps not a household name in England, the Argentine international is widely regarded as one of the best holding players in Serie A. The 28-year-old has become a mainstay for the Nerazzurri since joining from Real Madrid in 2004, and it seems that City manager Mark Hughes has taken a shining to him. Sparky has made no secret of his intention to toughen up the spine of his Sky Blues squad, and an energetic yet intelligent player like Cambiasso certainly fits the job description. It remains to be seen how genuine City's supposed interest is, and whether it will affect their long-established desire to sign Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth. According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Manchester City's wealthy owners are keen to bring Valencia striker David Villa to Eastlands and will offer €69 million to secure his services Apparently, the player's agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, has already been to Eastlands to iron-out a contract for his client with the Blues offering €173,000-a-week for five years. |
