Their top players are'nt good enough for the top 4 teams. Great achievment to be 2 points ahead of Hull City, what a season they are having
Sorry, but who are you talking about here? Is it sarcastically putting down Villa or are you talking about Hull? Sorry if it sounds a stupid question but I'm not great at picking things up over the computer lol.
Was putting down villa, I support coventry

Cheers mate. Think it's a bit unfair the way you worded that seeing as Hull have had a great start to PL life.

I think Villa are a good side but i just can't see them breaking the top four this season. I can see the gap between first and fourth being the smallest it has ever been this year - the same with fourth and fifth.

Why should it be 'make or break' ?

MON has built a squad who are still young enough to have a couple more tilts yet.

If they knew anything, they would know that all the great sides have taken a few years to mature into the consistency that brings success.

I'd say that there is MORE danger of Villa losing their stars if they DO break the top 4

All I can say is - get yourself a travelling chef - the top 4 will do ANYTHING to keep their place - particularly those whose place is under greather threat :)

villa will probably get a back up right back, another winger and a striker in jan, at left back they have shorey and bouma they r both injured at the moment. dont really know of any good right backs out there that arnt playing for the big 4 or spurs. if they could get defoe thed have a 20+ goal a season striker which is what they need IMO though thell probs just get heskey. maybe pennant as a winger with the hight of carew and maybe crouch his crossing could make a difference, milner and young end up cutting in alot more than putting in a cross

i cant see young, barry or agbonlahor leaving villa in the neext summer if villa wont achive 4th spot in the pl. i think they might in a year or two become a top 4 team if they will buy the right players.

It was a question. :p

I just think that bigger clubs will be sniffing around the likes of Young and Agbonlahor if they don't make top 4 and no doubt they'll be tempted although the grass isn't always greener besides Chelsea's bench. <_<

What makes you say there is more chance of them losing players if they break the top 4? Doesn't make sense to me.

I doubt the players they buy in January will be anything but backup players.

I say that Flak because they will :-

a) be of proven calibre with a tears CL experience so more attractive to other clubs
b) could be a way of clubs with more money knocking Villa back out of the top4 !
c) the players will have had a taste of the high life and, if Villa couldn't sustain it (like Everton) might want away to clubs back in the CL.

Players are hungry at the mo and can smell their chance with Villa. However, once the get there, they will want it every year and may feel that Villa do not give them that realistic opportunity

Good point, I didn't think of that angle. It will also give the other clubs a chance to see how their players perform on the big stage as well so it'd make them less of a gamble to buy.
