Could It Be The Other Way Round?

The Argentina international striker is currently on loan at Old Trafford and Ferguson is eager to push through a deal to secure his long-term future.

There have been a series of negotiations between Tevez's adviser Kia Joorabchian and United chief executive David Gill, but there appears to be no imminent prospect of the bustling forward putting pen-to-paper.

Ferguson is nevertheless staying calm and accepts that such matters are rarely resolved quickly.

The United boss said: "It doesn't frustrate me. I have been used to it over the years. You just have to be patient.

"It is not as if we have been short of negotiations.

"But I think we all know they can take a long time, and this one is just going along.

"David has been talking to his agent, so it is best left to him."

There are a couple of things that may be holding up an agreement. Firstly the narrowing of the exchange rate between the Euro (the currency in which the original fee was agreed) and the Pound which means in affect although the price has remained the same it will cost United more cos of the exchange rate. The other thing is Kia Zorabchian's history of how he goes about setting up these deals and giving up the right of ownership etc...

So my question is, could it be the other way round? Could it be the reason why Fergie isn't playing Tevez as much because he (and Gill) are not sure this deal will go through especially on the part of Kia Zorabchian, and therefore Fergie would prefer to develop a partnership between Berby and Rooney who have long term futures at the club?

It would certainly make more sense to play Rooney and Berbatov more often than any other partnership as you can be assured of their longer term status at the club so might as well get that partnership to flourish than risk lpaying tevez in there and him dissapearing

Don't know but if that turns out to be the case and Tevez leaves then you'd think United would have known better than to deal with Kia Ora in the first place. I mean why loan him for so long and not sort it out. :S
