Sam Allardyce is chasing Nancy's Moroccan star Mickael Chretien as he tries to find a solution to his problem right back position. And Allardyce is also closing in on signing Marseille's French international left back Gael Givet - with the Frenchman due to fly in tomorrow after the Rovers chief worked overtime on the negotiations. Givet is set to sign on loan for the rest of the season, leaving Marseille. Allardyce sent top spy Barry Whitbread to watch highly-rated 24-year-old defender Chretien in action yesterday and he could make a £3million offer this week. Chretien was born in France and played for their youth teams but he has switched his international allegiance to Morocco - the land of his father - where he is known as Mickael Basser. The defender almost signed for a couple of Spanish clubs in the last window but stayed loyal to Nancy, where he has been since he was five. |

Givet plays LB and LCB. Supposed to be a good player. I think Allardyce could use Warnock in midfield also, with Givet at LB putting some pressure on Pederson. The right back is supposed to be a really good player. At Madrid and Vallencia also apparently interested. |

No offence but why would he sign for Blackburn if those two top Spanish teams are interested? ![]() I've heard of Givet... |

think city were in for givet before they signed bridge. warnock would work quite well in midfield. tbh the blackburn squad needs a bit of bolstering at the moment |

lol A choice between playing in cold, wet, windy Blackburn or playing in sunny Spain and in the Champions League... Shouldn't Blackburn be looking at midfielders first?

Well we have no RB so thats pretty important. I agree tho we do need to strengthen midfield. It looks like Allardyce is building from the back which isnt a bad thing. Tighten up the defence then make improvements elsewhere |

Is Emerton playing in midfield now or something? ![]() Yeah I guess you have to start somewhere...be surprised if Blackburn don't sign at least 3 this January. |

at the min i think he has £5-10million If we sell Cruz for £18 million, i think maybe he will get another £10 million. I dont think he would spend it in the Jan window though. |

We did, Hull have the most goals conceded. Sam has got us defending as a team again which is good. Quite excited about this Chretien. Hopefully we pull it off. Reports are saying £4-5 million. We havnt had a proper RB since we sold Lucas Neil |
