city need a clear out- they have too many players if you ask me...too many decent players not enough quality.

i think a cb and box to box cm is essential

Man City once again attempting to rock the logistics of world football and ruin the game we love, thankfully they have been unsuccessful in their attempts so far.

Mediaset is more or less Italys equivalent of the likes of BBC or ITV so far as I understand it and Kaka has spoken to them saying the following

Quote:

"As long as the club keep high objectives, my desire will always be to stay at Milan," Kaka told Mediaset, which is also owned by Milan president Silvio Berlusconi.

"I want to get old here and my objective for the future is to become this team's captain.

"I refused important offers in the past."

*yawn* lets hope wenger doesnt keep steeling the best academy players around.

Yes, I agree with you totally cesc, city are ruining football. It was totally fine before when united and chelsea where paying 30m for players with no one in the same league to compete with them....but yeh yeh city are single handedly ruining football

Oh yeh and while you've got a spare moment see which academy won the FA youth cup last year and which academy team is 12 points clear at the top of the league and which team had produced most players throught there ranks in the premiership....look at stuff like that before you come out with dribble.
_____________

Anyways I agree with your point of a clear out, but we've suffered alot of injuries this season to vital players like Johnson and petrov mainly, so we've had to rely on squad players like vassell and benjani (both shite). So I think the squad need building up before a clear out

Kaka has just made a statement saying he wants to stay at Milan, and go on to captain them.

It was never going to happen.

Well said, the type of playing you should be reasonably going for.

I doubt both players want to go to a relegation threatened club though. Who knows though.

City have taken over from Chelsea in ruining football. I'd be personally pleased to see Kaka in the PL and even happy for City fans if he went. Trouble is they're raising the bar to new silly heights on transfer fees and wages which ultimately are unsustainable because they are effectively trading beyond their means.

City don't generate anywhere near enough money to pay £100m transfer fees and players £26million a year.

City's academy is great but if you going to go out an buy a team of superstars then it becomes redundant and City and england would be poorer for it.

It is also rumoured like some other top players that Robinho has a contract which demands he is paid top money so if Kaka earns £500k/week so will he. The resentment within the ranks when someone earns that amount and other first team regulars are on £20/25k/week would undermine club morale (already believed to be a problem now).

It may seem exciting now, but for City, England and football in general I reiterate I do expect this to all end in tears ultimately......Success built at these extremes creates something that is either totally uncompetitive or totally unsustainable: whereas failure brings boredom and departure of the golden goose who at the end of the day have no real love for this particular club. If the new norm for a WC player is £100m with £500k/week wages others will try to match it and die trying........Leeds but 100s times worse.

From my point of view, it's not Man City's fault as a club, it's the owners. Man City could be any team at all. They could of bought Spurs or Blackburn or Liverpool or any team. It's the owners that are wrong not the football club

You know I don't disagree.

Arsenal do create issues (eg not supporting team england) buying up foreign talent before it becomes too expensive.

Wenger though is trying desperately hard to stem a tide which he can't quite control by keeping a lid on transfer fees and wages.

Growing your own is clearly cheaper but the problem now is that as soon as these young stars (eg Adebayor) have a good season they start to look for more money to match what their status would be elsewhere. Keeping hold of players for Arsenal is becoming increasingly difficult as once established they can get more elsewhere so are leaving earlier and younger.

This means that Arsene is having to work a miracle every year in pulling a rabbit out of the bag, it's becoming more difficult but i know of nobody else who would get as close to doing this as him. Trouble is that the magic needed is having to improve every year and if arsenal drop out of top 4 they're in trouble. also not winning trophies is undermining the club when the truth is they continue to punch well above their weight year in year out.

Biggest laugh of all is those calling for Wenger to go, when in truth he is the sole reason arsenal is the club and team it is today, but he is playing King Kanute and suffering because of it.

Arsene Wenger has my utmost respect for all he has achieved and is a very sane voice in this sea of madness, but even he can not stem the tide and will ultimately (and unfortunately) lose, because increasingly holding to your principles and, in arsenal's case, their economics is no longer allowing them to compete realistically for the top prizes. Coming close is the best they are going to be able to achieve and Arsenal fans used to his magic working greater rewards are fundamentally disappointed by this (with some blaming him when in fact he is actually doing a great job achieving what he is).
