Torres on Kaka going to City...

Quote:

"Manchester City is not the right team for Kaka," Torres told the Daily Mail.

"Seriously, how can they pay £100million for Kaka?

"Big players want to win trophies and Manchester City is not even in the race for trophies in England. They are fighting to stay in the Premier League, or to get to the middle of the table.

"They have to build from there and then go against the biggest clubs and after that, maybe, a top player will join them.

"Chelsea were high in the league before they started to sign really big stars. Now everyone wants to play for Chelsea, but they did not when (owner) Roman Abramovich first arrived. They built a strong club and then it happened."

"For now, I cannot imagine Kaka playing for Manchester City," he continued.

"It would be a fantastic contract, yes, but there are other things more important than money. A player wants to be remembered for what he has won.

"Imagine 10 years after you stop playing, you go back, you look around, you are not in any picture, you have no medals, no trophies; it is like you played for nothing.

"You may have a fantastic car, a fantastic home, but what does it matter?

"You can have a contract that is better than your friends, but no player looks back and says, 'I won more money'."

Interesting to get a players perspective on it.

apparently he's on €186k a week take home at Milan already.

they Citeh contract would 'only' boost that to £260k a week take home, so it's not all about money. He's earning a fecking fortune already

Are you sure about how much Milan pay him? I thought they were quite tight with their wages...I remember Ricky saying Nesta was only on £60k or something like that.

Heres a thought, if Man City get the team of superstars they are after. Everyone of them will ask for 500k. Why shouldnt they.

So that makes 11 players on 500k a week. Thats £5.5million a week. £286 million pound a year in wages for 11 players.

And they'd have brought it all on themselves. <_<

It would widen the already massive (according to reports) gap in the changing room. I wonder how much the backup players would be on...

Was in one of the papers this morning that he told Maldini and Seedorf that he doesn't want to leave, but AC have told him to go as they want the money.

Could end up being pushed out the door. I think thats a way City could get these players, offering rediculous money so the clubs find it hard to refuse and end up pushing there players out

Kaka has asked for a €65m buy-out clause, which will allow him to leave the club in 2010 if the promises and plans Manchester City make do not materialise

The City deal is becoming a nightmare for the player. On Friday night he was seen crying at Milanello; such is the torment surrounding his possible Milan exit.

Well it does sound like he is being pushed out then. If so, will he put his heart and 100% effort into playing for Citeh  It wouldnt be the happiest of situations for him, would it?

milan want to sell because of the huge money

kaka doesnt want to go

kaka's agents want him to go because of the huge money they will get

players and fans want him to stay- fans are protesting today

kaka doesnt want to go to city but understand he is being forced out and is hoping someone like madrid come in for him

I heard that Galliani or something like that said it would be very difficult to keep hold of him so it sounds promising for City or any other suitors.

So much for player power eh? Why is it the fckwits like Bellamy up sticks and hold their clubs to ransom and a nice bloke like Kaka gets treated like a c-unt?
