In the relegation zone, no wins from their last 10 matches.

Downing wants out.

Southgate must be feeling the pressure...he's lucky Boro don't seem to sack managers easily.

Struggling, i tipped then to do well this season. Couple of wins gets them back out of there though.

Apparently Southgate and the chairman have a really good relationship so i cant see him getting sacked.

Same here, thought they'd be in the top 10 for sure.

I think a lot of it is to do with Downing not being on form and the speculation surrounding him, he's been the difference for them the past few seasons...

Don't think they'd be able to get anybody in for 50p. :fishing:

They could probably get about £14m for him...don't think it'd go that far.

I hear that's he's content with just staying down the bottom of the Premiership and they don't have any real ambition, hardly what you want to hear if you are a Boro fan. They should have built on things from the days of Yakubu/Viduka but they're going backwards it seems.

bottom 5 are all on goal difference though, 6 points cover 9th to 20th. 2 wins and your pushing for europe...

Talkingsense maybe. I can't remember now.

Yep a couple of wins and things will look up, going off their form and a 3-0 hammering by West Brom things don't look on the up though.

Definitely NOT a Terrorist
they will survive

southgate has built a good squad and they are on a bad run but they should have about 6 more points than they do now...have been very unlucky in some games

I thought he'd do better as well now that he's had time to settle. It's looking like his goal record in Holland flattered him though.

lol What is it with you and having 6 more points LFC? :p

IMO the central midfield isnt strong enough they have 3 CM in the whole team and none of them r good enough. they play with 4 attacking players (2 wingers, 2 strikers) but the 2 in the middle let them down unfortunately. this could be the difference between drawing/loosing a game at times

Cattermole isn't too bad, a little hit and miss sometimes but that's because of his age. Who else plays there in the middle?

Maybe they are missing the guy who used to be their captain, can't think of his name...
