Jimmy set the precedent for this becoming a Wenger vs Moyes thread by putting Arsene's name into it. I had better not see my name thrown into the fray for another derailed thread...

Are you having a laugh?

Wenger is a great coach but no longer a great manager - stubborn and weak.

errrr yeah, wenger's name was put into it because he is the benchmark as he's considered to be the best in the prem in terms of transfer ability.

Read it again, notice that I praise wenger continuously not only in the opening but in other parts of this thread.

But jimmy was being positive to Wenger, he only mentioned Wenger's name because Wenger is always a name people come up with when talking about managers being good in the transfer market. You need to learn when to take things as a compliment and not an insult.

Wenger is a brilliant manager. And I will probably be slated to no end but I will say it anyway. Only those who don't understand football and what Arsene is doing cannot see how great a manager he really is.

I have great respect and admiration for Wenger but it is his coaching ability more than his managing ability I rate. He's not good with egos and is nowhere near the man-motivator Moyes is, a man who's done wonders at Everton and a man you can't even bring yourself to praise.

In his opening post Jimmy clearly stated that it is possible that Moyes could be better than Wenger in the transfer market. Clearly open for debate, which is exactly what I was doing.

Too many yes men on these boards...

In fairness to DaGunners, I can see how the above could make it Wenger v Moyes.

No great with egos? Your having a giraffe. The guy got handled Anelka brilliantly and got the absolute max out of Henry, one of the most arrogant players of his generation. Your talking about things you don't have knowledge about, so I suggest you stop now...

Only if you don't have a brain, and I don't mean that in a bad way....

Anyone can see (or should be able to see) that that reflects how highly we should consider Moyes achievements in the transfer market....

key point being "potentially" then

at no point have I actually said Moyes is better than Wenger, i've simply used him as a benchmark in the prem for top transfer dealings. wouldn't have had much impact if I had put Rafa's name in there instead now would it.....

You said he could potentially be better. Is that not grounds for debate?

I think its just someone on a high horse looking to start a Sky Sports type thread and later criticize others. Just an observation I have made. Off to class...
