Be prepared for promises of the biggest stars/managers by candidates if they're elected :D.

Michel says that they should hold theelections now, he probably has a good point as having them in July will give themno time to prepare for the next season with regards to players/managers etc.

If Perez is re-elected I imagine they'll go back to the Galactico era. And today promised Kaka and Wenger if he gets elected.

Has there ever been one that actually came through on their promise?

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship – and we will – success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once

 Yeh but the guy is an idiot.

Apparently he has an €80m deal in place with Berlusconi already to sign him if he takes over  I can't see them gettign Wenger though. They should definetly keep Ramos.

According to AS, the Spanish businessman will use Zinedine Zidane as a bargaining chip for the electoral campaign in June in what could very well mark one of the most sensational returns to football in history.

The catch is that Perez wants to hire Zidane as a youth-team coach. The Frenchman has already stated his desire to become the Castilla manager earlier last year. Zidane is still living in Madrid and his children play for the Real Madrid Infitil B.

According to Sport, Florentino Pérez has prepared a list of players he wants to get rid of should he reclaim the presidency at Real Madrid:

Jerzy Dudek: Will not renew his contract, since he is blocking the progression of Jordi Codina from the youth team.

Michel Salgado: Almost left the team last season, and no longer has a place in the squad.

Fabio Cannavaro: Is 35 years old and wants to finish his career at Napoli. Will be allowed to leave.

Javier Saviola: Has two years left on his contract, but neither the club nor the player intend to see them out.

Marcelo: Has not impressed, and the club will seek a transfer.

Royston Drenthe: Has great potential, but needs to play more. The club will seek to loan him out.

Javi Garcia: The arrival of Lassana Diarra, along with his own indifferent performances, means that he is surplus to requirements.

Christoph Metzelder: Has played under Juande Ramos, but is yet to convince. His future will depend on who the coach is.

I think most managers would want to get rid of most of them players tbh

There is NO CHANCE he will get Wenger before 2011 there is more chance of him getting Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi. Wenger never turns his back on a contract.

Ancelotti has been tipped to leave AC Milan this summer while being linked with Madrid for the past few months and now Perez has hinted that he and the Italian club's vice-president, Adriano Galliani, would discuss things if he indeed wins the upcoming elections.

"I am very close to Adriano Galliani. He calls me when he comes to Spain and I speak to him when I am in Italy," he told reporters when asked about a new coach.

"We often talk about football and now we will have to wait and see what happens at the elections."

El Pais suggested recently that Madrid already have a deal in place to sign Ronaldo from Manchester United for €80 million and Perez intimated that he feels the Portuguese star would be a great asset.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world," he stated. "The best players in the world should play for Real Madrid."

Reports that Raul could be shunted aside might be wide of the mark, but Perez did not give the club icon and captain a ringing endorsement.

"Raul is a symbol of Madrid without a doubt. That is unquestionable. He will break all the records there are," he continued.

"We want him to stay at the club and work here when his career as a player comes to an end."

The Galactico era is said to be ushered back in under Perez, but he is not keen on the motto even though he does not dismiss the idea that his system will be reintroduced.

"I never used the word Galactico. From the players I only have heard good things about that era," he explained.

"We had a winning team that was admired around the world.

the guy's a deluded ar5ehole. They were admired for about the first 2 seasons under him and that was in no small part due to players like Hierro and Makelele as well as a great manager (Del Bosque who this dik sacked), after that they gradually deteriorated into a joke.
