whats everyone getting in a twist for? This is a forum, a thread was posted... some people said it was a brilliant goal and he is the next jesus (exaggerating) and some people said it was a good goal but easier to score in the reserves.

Is this not what a forum is for?

I suppose it all boils down to expectations. From an early age Lewis Hamilton was groomed to be a World champion. Go-kart racing at 5 or whatever, sponsorships from 10 or 11 etc etc. There was a plan set out for him. That he became World Champion is fantastic, a great achievement, but not totally unexpected.
Likewise, Wilshire or wtaever is name is, was groomed to be a professional footballer. So you expect him to score goals like that.

'Groomed'....

He's not a fcking tamagotchi! He got where he is today through hard work and natural ability. He's where he is today because of himself, and this attitude you have for Wilshere can be said about most players.

Bottom line is, that goal was not a normal goal; most players wouldn't attempt it let alone execute it, and therefore he deserves credit for it - or do professional footballers not deserve recognition?
