what about keane's confidence, he doesn't seem too with it at the mo, can Babel play instead of him?
Although I suppose that wouldn't help Keane's confidence

how can you say we wont? its perfectly possible, i've seen kuyt make many important tackles towards the back that for all we know could have easily turned into goals. Just when to we give Babel this run of games? Lets not forget we play the likes of chelsea soon

like i said jimmy

this is where the gamble factor comes in, some managers would gamble because it could get them back top or other will play it safe and take the draws rather risk taking a win if it pays off...we know which one rafa is

i dont think he's capable of it yet, he's not ready and giving him a run out in the squad when he isn't ready could easily do more harm than good. Theres no way you can say he would turn draws into wins, from what I have seen so far this season he's likely to have no impact at all until he starts to hone his skills. There's no way I would risk putting a player into that position who right now could be more of a risk than a benefit, not worth that kind of gamble yet

when is it worth the game then?

when we should be getting a 6-10 point lead but keep drawing games? when we keep dropping us points that cost us top spot? when we drop so many points we are now behind the leaders when we should be 6 points clear?

no

and thats all kuyts fault is it? we have put in near enough the most chances out of any team in the premiership, we just haven't converted them, Babel won't change that, we've seen time and again that he has power on his shot but almost no direction on it at all, again, something that needs to be worked on.

I said before, I don't see a tiem currently this season when it is worth it, he should get his chance as a sub for the time being and then needs to work his arse off come the summer break to prove that he is worthy of that opportunity. He's not ready yet, apart from scoring a goal against united (which wasn't even well taken) can you tell me of any other point in his over 20 appearances this season both starting and as sub that Babel has shown he's worthy of 3-4 games. Kuyt has shown it plenty of times and saved our bacon on numerous occasions this season.

yes when he played on the right wing in the cl game...he had a good game and looked like he was getting his confidence back....

i am not blaming kuyt, what i am saying is babel at his best will be better than kuyt and we should be playing in these games when teams put 10 men behind the ball because he is FAR more likely to create chances than kuyt.....and on top of this if we can get him on form then we will add a new dimension to liverpools attack threat

so basically what you're saying is, we drop a player that has on the whole been excellent this season bar a few recent games when the entire team has not been performing, a player who has scored some crucial goals and made some crucial tackles at the back. Then instead put in a player who on the whole has looked lazy in most games he has had his chances in, has played that position all of about 3 times in his entire career, is massively one footed and currently has not honed any of his skills.

All this based on if's, but's and maybe's in saying that all we need to do is get him to his best (something we have yet to see of him) and get him in form at a time when we are potentially battling for a title.

It makes no sense at all to me, Babel could do the job, however we know currently that Kuyt can do the job.

but babel COULD do it better..

kuyt has been poor for the last 5 games...he needs to benched for a few games...he is back to his old self

rieira hasnt performed last few games, how about we bench him too? Babel could certainly play that side better than the right at the moment as its a position he has played many times before, far better that he gets his form back in a position he is comfortable with than putting him in a different position and expecting him to get form back.

Point is, as you have said yourself, Babel COULD do better, but could is not enough right now.h
