Gianluigi Buffon would leave Juventus if he was the subject of a "fantasy football bid" like AC Milan playmaker Kaka, the goalkeeper said on Saturday. Sounds like an invitation to City to me. They need a goalkeeper as well so it could be possible. He's made himself sound like a mercenary though.

30 so a good few years left in him yet. I'm surprsed he's said this after stopping with Juventus when they got relegated. |

30 is still a good age for a goalkeeper. I just cant see him playing for City. |

Hm, sounds like rubbish to me. He will retire at Juve, he loves the club. |

Good enough for a top 4 club though? Probably Gladiator but I bet City's ears pricked up at this news today, will be interesting to see what happens if they put in a bid for him. He's already the most expensive goalkeeper in the world. |

They have made in principle an agreement with Shay Given and he will move to City for 10million while the toon will chase after David James. |

Source? £10m seems cheap, don't think Newcastle would let him go for that. |

The Daily Mail, 10million will be a British transfer record for a Goalkeeper. |

yes but did he really say that though? or is someone sat at a desk, bored, and just decided to make a story up....again? Edited by kebabeater, Jan 25 2009, 02:49 PM.

| Manchester = 50% United, 31% City, 19% the rest. Manchester is RED. Always has been. | |

we have a very good keeper already, whos young and improving all the time, it would be a pointless move it would be very unproductive to say the least....could it be the papers makin up storys just for the sake of it? ummmm i wander |

I don't think Hart is good enough to be first choice for where City want to be mainroadman. He needs to improve quite a lot, especially on dealing with crosses. |
