i never new liverpool tried to sign him

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher admits he's still unhappy over the way they were outbid by Manchester United for Nemanja Vidic.

“United have got that edge on us financially,” Carragher told the The Times. “[Nemanja] Vidic is a classic case. He had a buyout clause of four or five million.

"We met that but United came along and paid seven or eight. But we can’t make excuses given the money we’ve spent.”

It's nearly Christmas
If he had a buyout clause why would a club go over it?

Maybe becuase they might have felt like they had won the league instead of bought it for once. :fishing: :ph43r:

it used to be the other way round years ago. i remember when fergie tried to sign(1988?) centre-back Glenn Hysen but Liverpool stepped in with a bigger bid.
Manchester = 50% United, 31% City, 19% the rest. Manchester is RED. Always has been.

nutta knows !
if he had a buy out clause then surely his club had to let him go for that and it was just personal terms that swayed the deal
