The best two out and out strikers in the Premiership without a doubt. Pace, power, finishing...these two have it. I would rather have Torres because he's more consistent and isn't as petulent as Drogba. The one thing that sticks in my mind about Drogba though is his record in finals, it's been brilliant since he's been at Chelsea. |

i also think Torres... what lets Drogba down is the fact that he is a bulk of a person, but still goes down like a Arjen Robben, or a fairy. When he plays to his ability, and out muscles people, he's brilliant... but it seems he doesn't always have it in him to do this. Torres... well to be honest, his first season, phenominal, second season, considering injuries, he still managed a very respectable goals return... and he literally frightens defenders with his pace, his strength, his skill, and his ability to weave in and out of defenders, espicially in the 18 yard box, and he also has a fantastic understanding with some other scouse fella who i can't think off... |

Wasnt so great in 2008 CL. When at best think DD just edges it, but not always playing at best. Tough call, heart says DD because he is a CFC player, but head says that I cant really separate them. |

Torres generally is a better player, but on his day DD is the best in the world for me. Torres for his commitment and he doesnt dive etc. |

DD without the diving and moaning is easily the best striker in the world but we only saw him not do the silly stuff for 1 season. he is like ronaldo in the way that everyone hates him but he is probably the most complete striker in the world, he can create goals with his strength and power at times. he can also play with his back to goal which torres cant torres on the other hand is the best striker that plays on the shoulder and his finishing is one of the best in the world id have drogba personally, though i wouldent say no to torres |

For me Drogba's strength and power is freakish. The way he can terrorise defenders by bursting past them or muscling them off the ball is something I've never seen to that degree before. When he's on his game he can be very very difficult to stop. He thrives on direct ball and uses his massive frame to hold up the ball. His goals return when he gets a run in the team can be excellent as he gets himself in goal scoring positions time after time and is a huge threat from set pieces. However, Drogba's attitude is terrible. His antics and playacting are the worst I have ever seen from a professional footballer. He's very dislikeable. Although rival fans will acknowledge his influence on games, he's pretty much hated by them. From a football purists point of view Drogba isn't exactly a fantastic footballer. His touch can be very heavy, he's not technically brilliant or very intelligent. He can lack composure sometimes and elect for a blast when a calm sidefoot is necessary(in fact this is a trait of a lot of African players, they're behind their European and Latin counterparts in this aspect in my opinion.). His game is based on his freakish strength and power, which frightens the shite out of defenders. For me Torres' pace is blistering and his finishing clinical as he's composed infront of goal. He's ability to get in behind defenses and find space with his movement is also a feature of his play. He's intelligent and links well with the players around him. His attitude is spot on and he's a match winner, and shows up in big games. Torres can score every type of goal, he's not just a poacher. Nobody seems to hate the lad. Sometimes his dribbling is irratic and the ball can bounce off him. On his off days he can be a bit predictable, trying to constantly turn and run at players. Football purists like Torres as he's a cultured intelligent player. It is true he's not so great with his back to goal as his strength lies playing on the shoulders of defenders. Overall it's Torres for me by a canter. It's difficult maybe to give Drogba a generous appraisal because he's so dislikeable but I must say he's a force of nature. Also I much prefer players who use talent rather than physical or athletic strengths to influence games. |

To me you just described Drogba's game there as well. To say Torres wins at a canter is generous, there really isn't much if anything ability wise to seperate the two. Most will just choose from the consistency or the likeability factor. Don't think they'd make a good a partnership as they would with a Rooney/Gerrard type player pulling the strings behind them manu. |

Definitely NOT a Terrorist

drogba's finishing lets him down imo both can play on the shoulder and have a eye for goal, drogba has power to destroy defences with some pace while torres has blistering pace with some power. for me torres wins because he is more consistent, both on their day are unplayable tho |

one season was all it is but the guy still misses too many 1 on 1 chances for my liking. you wont notice as few chances are created when united and chelsea play and you dont play often but liverpool and chelsea played so many times and drogba lways misses the majority of his chances |

Torres is def the more consistent of the 2, but in the 1 game in 5 that DD decides not to sulk he is the best in the World, its just a shame about the other 4 games. |
