The point is I think we can find another CB who is maybe not AS good as Terry but pretty close anyway, for less money...

I want Lescott anyway...
I have no idea why people rate him highly... There are defenders that are waaaay better than him. Imo he's just a tad better than Richards. His offensive acumen is better than his defensive one.. Outside the top 4 hangeeland, cuellar, woodgate, king and possibly melchiot are all better

Hangeland has had one good season. Curtis Davies is Villa's best centre back now. King can't play more than one game a week and doesn't Melchiot play as a full back? :S

Kenyon says Terry is not for sale at any price.

Chelsea fans will be pleased to hear that John Terry is to join the squad on their pre-season tour of the USA.

Terry is yet to publicly state his intention to stay at Stamford Bridge, and Manchester City see this as a sign that he is seriously considering joining their club.

However, according to The Times, Terry is not ready to hand in a transfer request, and is set to fly out with the team on their North American tour. In addition, he featured in a photo shoot for Chelsea's new kit, a process which does not usually involve players likely to leave the club.

Despite that, City have always stated that until the England international publicly states his desire to remain, they will pursue his signature. Therefore, Terry's future at the Bridge is still far from assured.

Thats the whole point, all he has to do is say, "I am staying at Chelsea". He is either seriuosly thinking of moving to City, or making a serious play for more money at Chelsea. Either way, I and from what I can gather, a large number of Chelsea fans r starting to become seriously fcuked off with JT. He is an Idol at the Bridge.............but maybe with whats been going on and how long its taking I should say He was an Idol..................never thought i would say this, but getting close to saying just sell the guy, grab the £35m-£40m and move on. IMO JT will be the one that regrets the move the most as

1. Still cant see City breaking into B4 next season and even if they did, cant see them being a CL winning team for next few yrs, and by then it may be just 2 late for JT.

2. He will never be revered at City in the same way he is/was at the Bridge.

3. He will never carry the same weight with the owners at City that he had with RA.

4. And will IMO blow any chance of ever becoming Chelsea manager, which he has said in the past is a great wish of his.

Even if JT now decides to stay at Chelsea, he may find that he is no longer the fans number 1 guy. I bet u, that if he stays, his wont be the biggest selling shirt at the club again.

I know i am biased, but if JT does move............is this the biggest betrayal in football???

Trying to think of a bigger one, gooners may say Cashley, but he hadnt been there as long and dont think he was club captain. United fans may say Becks, but he was forced out.

Anyone think of a bigger betrayal??????

But Figo had only been at Barca for 5 yrs, JT been at CFC for 15 lol.

Last time i felt like this I was 13 and Wilkins moved to United, still havent forgiven him for that lol and it wasnt really his fault.
